Dr. James Dobson endorsing Huckabee (along with the NEA) now that Mitt has dropped out. McCain sounded like a conservative at CPAC yesterday but his record speaks louder than his claims to be a foot soldier in the Reagan conservative movement...

some Obama concerns

He sponsored S.CON.RES.53: A concurrent resolution expressing the sense of Congress that any effort to impose photo identification requirements for voting should be rejected.

In 1999 he was the only Illinois State Senator to vote against a bill barring early release for (criminal) sex offenders.

He voted against filtering pornography on school and library computers and he voted for sex education for kindergarten children through the 5th grade.

Also, in 2001, he voted “present” on a bill to keep pornographic book and video stores and strip clubs from setting up within 1,000 feet of schools and churches.

Twice, Obama voted against bills prohibiting tax funding of abortions.

In February 2004, his wife, Michelle, sent out a fundraising letter, which actually stated her concern over the rise of conservatism in the Country, and that the ‘so-called’ partial-birth abortion was a legitimate medical procedure that should be protected.

In 2003, as chairman of the next Senate committee to which BAIPA (Born Alive Infants Protection Act) was sent, Obama prevented it from even getting a hearing. BAIPA, by the way, stated that all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted.

In 2001, he voted “present” on a bill to notify parents when their minor children seek an abortion.

He voted against a cloning ban in 2000, but voted for it in 2001.

In 1997, Obama twice voted “present” on an Illinois partial-birth abortion ban.

The Illinois Legislature allows members to vote "yes," "no," or "present." Bills need "yes" votes to pass, so a vote of "present" counts the same as a "no."

Sounds like this "Christian" man is all about Christian values. "Many of us" see through it. I guess the only hope is that the post is not accurate.

This is more Bush/Rove drivel and it's ridiculous.  You can't be a Christian if you vote for a candidate who does not believe the government should play a role in the moral decisions of American citizens?

Republican conservative used to mean "small government, small spending".  Now it means, big government in people's personal lives making their decisions for them, but small government when it comes to lending aid in times of financial disaster, crisis, and personal dilemmas.  Why small financial aid in the lives of American citizens?  So we can provide tax breaks for the wealthy, and mostly so we can fund a war where thousands of innocent little babies and children, as well as teenagers and adults, lose their lives.

The idea that you can look down your nose at a candidate who trusts women to make their own decisions regarding abortion, while praising and hailing a candidate who has us at war that has cost us dearly in terms of blood and treasure, is hypocritical at best.

How dare you question someone's Christianity on the basis of they endosre as a political candidate.

Just be aware that those of us who do not endorse Bush feel exactly the same about anyone who would support him.

You are free to vote as you please (and justify it however you like) -- but just be aware he does not support Christian values. One would think that would matter to a Christian, which was Kevin's point.
